Trueline's client, a respected general contractor specializing in multifamily housing developments throughout Southern California, is seeking a Lead Superintendent to join their team in Palmdale, California. This is an opportunity to lead a large-scale residential project from the field, overseeing daily operations, driving schedule performance, and ensuring exceptional quality and safety standards on a high-profile development.
What You'll Do as the Lead Superintendent:
- Lead all onsite construction activities for a large multifamily residential development
- Direct subcontractors, field personnel, and trade partners to achieve project goals
- Manage project sequencing across multiple buildings and construction phases
- Maintain and drive the master construction schedule through proactive planning and coordination
- Conduct look-ahead meetings and identify potential schedule impacts before they become issues
- Coordinate inspections, material deliveries, workforce planning, and trade activities
- Ensure all work is performed according to plans, specifications, and applicable codes
- Perform regular quality inspections and address deficiencies promptly
- Promote a culture of safety and enforce OSHA and company safety requirements
- Lead jobsite safety meetings and maintain proper documentation
- Mentor Assistant Superintendents, Project Engineers, and field staff
- Collaborate with project management, consultants, inspectors, and ownership representatives throughout the project lifecycle
- Oversee punch list completion, turnover activities, and project closeout efforts
Must-Haves as the Lead Superintendent:
- 10 years of construction leadership experience in the field
- Previous experience as a Superintendent or Lead Superintendent on multifamily projects
- Proven success overseeing large residential developments of 200 units
- Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, scheduling, site logistics, and field coordination
- Ability to manage multiple subcontractors and construction activities simultaneously
- Experience with inspections, punch lists, turnover, and closeout processes
- Proficiency with Procore or similar construction management platforms
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work onsite full-time in the Palmdale area
Nice-to-Haves as the Lead Superintendent:
- OSHA 30 certification
