The Lead Carpenter is the firm’s on-site representative and day-to-day owner of residential remodeling projects. This role blends hands-on craftsmanship, jobsite leadership, and direct homeowner communication.
This is not a purely production role. The ideal candidate brings executive-level soft skills, takes pride in presentation and professionalism, and can manage the full scope of daily site operations independently.
Must-Haves
- High-end residential remodeling experience (multiple relevant projects required)
- Craftsman, leader, and communicator
- Proven experience working directly with homeowners

- Ability to manage:
- Subcontractors and trade partners
- Jobsite schedules and logistics
- Deliveries, materials, and coordination
- Cleanliness, dust control, and surface protection
- Strong situational awareness and accountability
- “Good human being” with strong character and judgment
Technical Expectations
- Frame-to-finish residential remodeling carpentry
- Interior remodeling work including:
- Structural modifications (removing walls, installing beams)
- Window and door changes
- Kitchens, finish carpentry, and millwork installation
- Exterior trim and siding may be performed depending on project scope
- Larger additions and major framing typically subcontracted
- Candidate must understand the full remodeling lifecycle even when not self-performing all scopes
Not required but preferred:
- Bilingual: Spanish or Portuguese
- Long tenure in high-end residential remodeling environments
- Prior experience acting as the sole onsite representative
Jobsite Environment
- Often working solo onsite
- Typically one trade contractor onsite at a time
- Trade crews range from 1–6 depending on phase
- Rarely more than ~10 people onsite
Territory / Commute
- Acton, MA is the hub
- Typical radius: ~30–45 minutes
- Route 2 corridor suburbs (Arlington, Belmont, Newton, Cambridge)
- Occasional work as far as Worcester
- No Boston proper, no deep North Shore or South Shore
Compensation & Benefits
- $40–$45/hour
- Medical:
