Position Overview: Survey CAD Technician
The Survey CAD Technician plays a vital role in producing accurate plats and survey documents, supporting the completion of office-based survey tasks as part of a collaborative project team. This position works closely with the Project Management Team to prepare high-quality survey deliverables and ensure deadlines are met.
Key responsibilities include generating data points and assembling field work packages to support the efforts of field survey crews. The Survey CAD Technician also provides technical insight and guidance to field personnel, helping ensure project goals are met with precision and efficiency.
This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys translating field data into clear, reliable deliverables and contributing to the overall success of each project.
General tasks associated with this position include the following:
- Use Carlson Survey/AutoCAD to produce survey drawings and plat maps
- Create (CSV & job files), field sketches, and field work packages for use by field survey crews
- Verify completeness and suitability of field survey data as it pertains to project deliverables
- Prepare legal descriptions and exhibits for right of way, easements, parcels, etc.
- Must possess strong verbal/written communication skills, the ability to produce work independently, and effectively coordinate with team members
- Proactive and organized, the candidate effectively manages multiple concurrent projects while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and meeting deadlines
Education/Experience Qualifications:
- 1 years relevant experience with AutoCAD, Carlson Survey or Civil 3D (Required)
- 1 years relevant land survey experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Highly motivated
- Ability to multitask
- Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel (preferred)

Schedule:
- 8 hour shifts
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
Experience:
- Land surveying: 1 year (Required)
- AutoCAD Drafting: 1 year (Required)
Ability to Relocate:
- Knoxville, TN 37923: Relocate before starting work (Preferred)
