Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor and record vital signs, patient observations, and changes in health status to ensure prompt response to any concerns
- Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA guidelines to maintain confidentiality and safety
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs, assist with feeding, and ensure proper meal hygiene
- Operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts and perform heavy lifting tasks safely to support mobility and transfers
- Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties, including cleaning client spaces and ensuring infection control practices
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement personalized care plans that meet each client’s unique needs
Requirements
- Prior experience working in assisted living, home health, nursing homes, or group homes is highly preferred
- Knowledge of patient care techniques including CPR, first aid, dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, hospice care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism
- Ability to monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration rate, and observe patient conditions accurately
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of client information
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident lifts
- Strong communication skills for working effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams
- Certifications such as CPR or first aid are a plus but not mandatory; training will be provided if needed
