Role Overview
As our Founding Data Scientist, you’ll architect and build our core pricing analytics engine from the ground up. You’ll work directly with senior leadership to analyze CPT/HCPCS codes, model Medicare reimbursement structures, and develop scalable tools that power smarter pricing decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Build pricing models using Medicare fee schedules, APC/DRG groupers, and commercial benchmarks
- Analyze CPT/HCPCS codes to derive reimbursement logic and optimize pricing strategies
- Develop predictive models for cost forecasting, utilization, and risk scoring
- Design ETL pipelines to ingest and normalize payer, provider, and CMS datasets
- Collaborate with leadership to define product roadmap and data architecture
Technical Requirements
- Strong proficiency in data modeling
- Deep experience with Medicare pricing methodologies (e.g., Physician Fee Schedule, OPPS, IPPS)
- Familiarity with DRG/APC groupers, CMS datasets, and healthcare claims structures
- Experience with CPT/HCPCS code sets and payer-provider reimbursement logic
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous startup environment
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Data Science, Health Informatics, Statistics, or related field
- 3 years of experience in healthcare analytics, preferably with Medicare or payer-side data
- Strong communication skills and ability to translate data into business strategy
- Entrepreneurial mindset and willingness to build from scratch
