Responsibilities
- Lead preconstruction efforts on ground-up projects — budgeting, scheduling, and constructability reviews — from pursuit through GMP/buyout
- Develop conceptual and detailed cost estimates at various design stages, including quantity takeoffs and pricing
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and owners during design development to identify value engineering opportunities and resolve constructability issues
- Solicit, review, and level subcontractor and vendor bids; lead buyout and negotiate scopes of work
- Prepare and present preconstruction budgets, schedules, and proposals to clients and internal stakeholders
- Collaborate with project management and field teams to ensure a smooth transition from preconstruction to construction execution
Requirements
- 8 years of experience in construction estimating or preconstruction
- Ground-up project experience in commercial, industrial, or multifamily construction
- Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., ProEst, Sage, Bluebeam, or similar) preferred
- Bachelor's degree helpful but not required
