Overview
We are seeking a skilled derrickhand to join our team and contribute to the efficient operation of our oil and gas projects. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors in a fast-paced environment. As a derrickhand, you will play a vital role in ensuring safety, operational excellence, and team coordination across various construction and drilling sites. Must have drivers license and CDL a plus. Must pass drug test. Monday-Friday schedule.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tanker trucks safely and efficiently on construction sites and oil rigs.
- Assist with pipeline installation, horizontal drilling, and pumping systems setup to ensure smooth operations.
- Manage rigging tasks for lifting and positioning equipment or materials, adhering to safety standards.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues promptly to minimize downtime and maintain operational flow.
- Enforce safety protocols including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and respiratory protection at all times.
- Coordinate crew activities, supervise team members, and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations during outdoor work.
- Conduct regular inspections of machinery, tools, and safety gear to uphold safety standards across all operations.
Experience
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tanker trucks in construction or oil & gas environments.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment problems effectively.
- Hands-on experience with pipeline installation, horizontal drilling, pumping systems, and related pumping operations.
- Familiarity with safety protocols including OSHA standards, PPE use, respiratory protection, and outdoor work conditions.
- Prior experience working on construction sites or oil rigs involving excavation, crane operation, or commercial trucking.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations related to heavy equipment operation and construction site safety practices.
- Ability to manage crew activities efficiently while maintaining a focus on safety and productivity.
