CMM Technician (PC-DMIS / Romer Arm)

We are seeking an experienced CMM Technician to support precision dimensional inspection within a manufacturing environment. This individual will be responsible for operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and portable metrology equipment to verify product conformance to engineering drawings and customer specifications.
This role requires hands-on experience using PC-DMIS software and portable CMM equipment such as Romer Arms, FARO Arms, Hexagon portable arms, or similar articulated arm measuring systems. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working with precision measurement equipment, and experienced interpreting engineering drawings, CAD models, and GD&T.
Schedule Options:
- 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM Monday through Friday, or
- 4:30 PM – 3:00 AM Monday through Thursday
Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience using PC-DMIS software is required.
- Experience operating portable CMM systems such as Romer Arms, FARO Arms, Hexagon portable arms, or equivalent articulated arm measuring equipment is required.
- Experience operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) within a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, CAD models, and GD&T.
- Strong understanding of dimensional inspection methods and manufacturing quality standards.
- Proficiency using precision measuring equipment including: Calipers, Micrometers, Height gauges, Indicators, Other precision inspection instruments.
- Strong mathematical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Comfortable using computers and technical software applications.
Essential Duties:
- Perform dimensional inspections on precision-machined components using stationary and portable Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs).
- Set up, calibrate, and execute existing PC-DMIS inspection programs to support manufacturing and quality operations.
- Operate portable metrology equipment (Romer Arm, FARO Arm, Hexagon Arm, or equivalent) to inspect components throughout the production process.
- Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, manufacturing plans, and GD&T requirements to determine inspection criteria.
- Properly fixture, level, and position components to ensure accurate dimensional measurements.
- Review inspection data and compare results against engineering specifications and tolerance requirements.
- Perform manual dimensional inspections using precision measuring instruments when additional verification is required.
- Identify, document, and communicate nonconforming conditions in accordance with established quality procedures.
- Assist with troubleshooting CMM equipment, software, or inspection-related issues.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of CMM equipment, portable measuring systems, and inspection work areas.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and participate in special quality or inspection projects as needed.
- Maintain accurate inspection documentation and quality records.

Education:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Technical school education, apprenticeship, or equivalent manufacturing experience is preferred.
Salary : $25 - $32
