Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and adaptable Float Consultant to join our retail team. Bilingual abilities and prior supervisory experience are a plus, as this position requires engaging with diverse customers and team members across multiple departments. As a Float Consultant, you will play a key role in maintaining merchandising standards, assisting with stock management, and promoting sales through product demos and upselling.
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting shoppers with inquiries and transactions using POS systems and cashiering skills
- Support different departments such as grocery, merchandise, and checkout areas by stocking shelves, merchandising displays, and ensuring product availability
- Conduct product demos to educate customers about new or featured items to enhance sales opportunities
- Assist in supervising team members when needed, including guiding new staff and ensuring store policies are followed
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and retail math calculations
- Upsell products to increase sales and meet store targets through effective communication and sales techniques
- Maintain a clean and organized store environment by managing stock levels and merchandising displays according to company standards
- Demonstrate strong phone etiquette when interacting with customers or vendors over the phone
- Support inventory management activities such as stock replenishment and inventory counts
- Adapt to various roles within the store as needed, providing flexible support across departments
Requirements
- Prior retail sales experience preferred, especially in grocery or similar retail environments
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively
- Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve a diverse customer base
- Experience with POS systems, cashiering, and cash handling procedures
- Knowledge of merchandising, stocking, upselling, and product demonstrations
- Basic math skills for retail math calculations and transaction accuracy
- Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills
- Supervising experience is a plus but not required; leadership qualities are valued
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with flexibility across different store functions
- Prior experience in grocery stores or retail stores is preferred but not mandatory
