True Recovery RVA is growing, and we're looking for passionate clinicians and substance use professionals to join our team.
As we expand our continuum of care—including outpatient services, recovery housing, peer support, and the launch of our new ASAM 2.1 outpatient — you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals navigating recovery from substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders.

What You'll Do
As a IOP/ PHP Group Facilitator, you'll lead engaging and evidence-based group sessions that help clients build coping skills, strengthen recovery supports, and develop healthier lifestyles.
Responsibilities include:
- Facilitate therapeutic and psychoeducational groups for individuals in Intensive Outpatient (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization (PHP) programs.
- Deliver curriculum focused on substance use recovery, relapse prevention, emotional regulation, life skills, mental wellness, and personal growth.
- Utilize evidence-based practices including CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, and trauma-informed approaches.
- Foster a safe, supportive, and engaging group environment where clients feel empowered to participate and grow.
- Collaborate with counselors, peer recovery specialists, case managers, and other members of the treatment team.
- Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation in accordance with Virginia regulations and agency standards.
- Participate in team meetings, supervision, and ongoing professional development opportunities.
Qualifications
Required Virginia Credentials (must hold at least one of the following):
- CSAC-S (Certified Substance Abuse Counselor – Supervisor)
- CSAC (Certified Substance Abuse Counselor)
- LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor)
- LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker)
- Resident in Counseling
- Supervisee in Social Work
- Other qualifying LMHP credentials recognized by the Commonwealth of Virginia
Preferred Experience:
- Group facilitation in substance use disorder treatment, behavioral health, or co-occurring treatment settings.
- Knowledge of ASAM criteria and recovery-oriented systems of care.
- Experience working with diverse populations.
- Strong communication, engagement, and documentation skills.

Schedule
- Monday- Friday | 9am- 5pm
- Group facilitation and client-facing services are conducted in person at our Henrico location.
- Hybrid work option available, with the opportunity to complete documentation remotely when approved and consistent with program requirements.
