Role Description The CNC Programmer role is a full-time, on-site position located in Santa Ana, CA. In this role, the CNC Programmer will create, modify, and optimize CNC programs for milling and other machining operations, ensuring parts meet required specifications and tolerances. Daily tasks include interpreting technical drawings and blueprints, selecting appropriate tooling and fixtures, setting up machines, and collaborating with machinists to troubleshoot and improve production processes. The CNC Programmer will verify first-article parts, adjust programs for efficiency and quality, and maintain accurate documentation of setups and program revisions. This role also involves working closely with production and quality teams to meet deadlines, uphold safety standards, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Ability to interpret and apply Technical Drawing and blueprint reading skills to machining and programming tasks.
- Proficiency in CNC Programming for milling and related operations, including creating and editing programs using CAM or machine control software.
- Hands-on experience in Machining and Milling, including machine setup, tooling selection, and process optimization.
- Strong general Programming skills related to G-code, M-code, and CNC controls, with attention to accuracy and safety.
- Relevant experience in a machine shop or manufacturing environment; familiarity with tight tolerances and quality inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
- Ability to read and follow work instructions, maintain organized documentation, and communicate clearly with cross-functional teams.
- Commitment to workplace safety, cleanliness, and continuous improvement in processes and productivity.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in CNC machining or manufacturing technology is preferred.
