Job Description:True North Recovery is seeking a seasoned and proactive Systems & Security Administrator to join our leadership team. Reporting to the IT director, this role is essential for elevating our IT department's capabilities from a break/fix model to a proactive scalable IT management model. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of applications architectures and operating systems, APIs and data management, cybersecurity principles and cloud environments. They will be a key driver in implementing our IT roadmap and will function as a mentor to our IT support staff.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Cybersecurity & Compliance:Lead the implementation of core cybersecurity recommendations, manage and enforce security controls in our new IT management systems, and assist in developing a comprehensive incident response plan.
- Systems and Cloud Administration: Administer and manage our enterprise applications, including Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, and our new electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Data Management & Integration: Design and implement secure data pipelines and integration between our various financial, HR and other applications. Assist in assessing and/or building out automation (via scripts, APIs etc.), specially form data extract and loading into enterprise applications and data repositories.
- Technical Leadership: Work with IT support staff to troubleshoot and resolve Tier 2 advanced problem tickets and urgently escalated IT issues.
- Strategy and Documentation: Collaborate with the IT director to develop comprehensive IT policies, procedures, and a disaster recovery plan.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in a System Administrator or similar senior-level IT role. Experience in a healthcare or regulated industry is highly preferred.
- Certifications:
- CompTIA Security certification is highly preferred.
- Relevant certifications in cloud computing or networking are a strong plus.

- Strong knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, VLANs) and firewall management.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) is a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This role is primarily performed in an office building with standard office environment and controlled temperatures. When working outdoors or at a job site the employee may be exposed to construction equipment or other moving objects/equipment, reference job site specifics. The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk/hear, see, read, and personally interact with others.
