Job Description:
True North Recovery is seeking a highly motivated and hands-on IT Installation &
Support Technician to join our growing IT department. Reporting to the IT Manager, this
role is essential for the physical deployment, maintenance, and support of our IT
infrastructure across all facilities. This is a hands-on position that requires a strong
willingness to learn, a proactive attitude, and an ability to work as part of a team to
ensure the safety and functionality of our IT assets. The ideal candidate will be
comfortable working in a dynamic environment and will be a key part of our effort to
standardize and scale our IT operations.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Physical Infrastructure Installation: Perform the physical installation of
network hardware, including running and terminating Ethernet wires, mounting
switches, and deploying wireless access points and cameras at new and existing
facilities. - Hardware Deployment & Management: Deploy new and refreshed computer
equipment (desktops, laptops, monitors) for staff and clients. Assist with the
decommissioning and secure disposal of old hardware. - On-Site Support: Serve as a primary point of contact for on-site hardware and
physical network issues. Troubleshoot and resolve problems related to network
connectivity, hardware failures, and other physical IT issues. - Team Collaboration: Work closely with the IT Manager and other IT staff on
large-scale projects, with a focus on teamwork and safety during installations and
on-site visits. - Documentation: Assist in the maintenance of physical network diagrams and
hardware inventory lists. - Help Desk Support: Handle and resolve a percentage of daily support tickets as
a Level 1 technician, including basic troubleshooting and assisting staff with
common technical issues.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Experience: A minimum of 1-2 years of hands-on experience in a technical role,
preferably in a structured IT environment. - Certifications:
- CompTIA A certification is highly preferred.
- Equivalent experience will be considered.

- Technical Skills:
- Demonstrated knowledge of computer hardware and operating systems.
- Experience with physical network infrastructure, including cabling,
termination, and mounting hardware. - Experience with camera system installation and setup.
- Familiarity with remote monitoring and management tools (e.g.,
ServiceDesk Plus) is a strong plus.
- If in recovery, one year of continuous sobriety prior to hire and active and continuing participation in a recovery support program, such as a 12-step program.
- Valid Alaska driver’s license and insurable under TRUE NORTH RECOVERY INC’s automotive insurance, which requires a driver to be at least 21 years of age.
- Continued employment is contingent upon receipt of a satisfactory state and federal background check.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This role is primarily performed in an office building with standard office environment and controlled temperatures. When working outdoors or at a job site the employee may be exposed to construction equipment or other moving objects/equipment; reference job site specifics. The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk/hear, see, read, and personally interact with others.
