Job Description:
True North Recovery, Inc. is seeking a dependable and experienced Carpenter/Remodeler to join our facilities team. This full-time position is responsible for performing in-house remodeling and general maintenance projects that help create safe, functional, and welcoming environments for the people we serve.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the Facilities Director with facility improvement and maintenance
- Complete assigned work efficiently and with attention to detail
- Perform a variety of carpentry and remodeling tasks including:
- Framing, flooring, drywall, painting, trim, countertops, tile
- Window installation, siding, fencing, and bathroom remodels
- Light plumbing and electrical work.
- Manage and stock tools, materials, and supplies
- Maintain a safe and organized worksite
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with other departments
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 5 years of Carpentry/Remodeling experience.
- Proven knowledge of basic maintenance and construction procedures following code.
- Valid Alaska Driver's License and insurable under company policy (minimum age 18)
- Continued employment is contingent upon satisfactory state and federal background checks
- If in recovery: Minimum of one (1) year of continuous sobriety prior to hire, ongoing participation in a recovery support program (e.g., 12-step or equivalent)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This role is primarily performed in an office building with standard office environment and controlled temperatures. When working outdoors or at a job site the employee may be exposed to construction equipment or other moving objects/equipment; reference job site specifics. The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk/hear, see, read, and personally interact with others.
