Overview
We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Intern to support our Remittance Processing team with Accounts Receivable posting within a financial platform. This internship provides hands-on experience with client financial transactions and exposure to real-world accounting and finance
operations. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, well-organized, and interested in gaining practical experience in a professional office environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily remittance processing activities, including posting payments accurately to client accounts within the financial system.
- Review and reconcile remittance information, including checks, electronic payments, and supporting documentation.
- Ensure accurate application of payments by verifying client details, invoice numbers, and payment amounts.
- Identify and report discrepancies, unapplied cash, or posting issues to the Remittance Processing team.
- Maintain organized electronic records and documentation in accordance with company procedures.
- Collaborate with team members to support ongoing projects, process improvements, and departmental initiatives.
- Assist with basic Accounts Receivable tasks as needed, including data entry and reporting.
- Adhere to confidentiality requirements and internal controls related to financial data.
- Participate in training and development activities to build knowledge of financial platforms and remittance workflows.
Education and Qualifications
- High School Diploma required (current college students pursuing Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred).
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a willingness to ask questions and seek clarification.
