Janitorial Staff

Job Summary
This position is responsible for performing a variety of cleaning duties. This position is in charge of maintaining all public and private spaces at the Goodwill 700 Garfield Avenue location.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Dusts ceiling vents, surface areas and counter surfaces.
- Cleans facility floors by sweeping, scrubbing, vacuuming and mopping.
- Operates electronic equipment to clean facility floors and perform various treatments such as carpet shampooing and stain-removal.
- Collects and disposes of trash and recycling.
- Polishes furniture and room accessories as requested.
- Cleans and sanitizes shared common areas such as lunch rooms, restrooms, conference room and training room.
- Cleans all glass surfaces including windows and mirrors.
- Keeps all cleaning equipment in working order.
- Reports repairs of equipment as needed.
- Reports the need to order additional cleaning supplies and paper products as needed.
- Ensures the safe storage of cleaning equipment and products.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to work independently or with a team.
- Ability to follow schedules and keep commitments.
- Ability to pay attention to detail.
- Knowledge of cleaning products supplies and techniques for general cleaning.

These work environment factors are general in nature and may vary depending on the specific position being filled. CONSTANT: Stand and near vision. FREQUENT: Bend neck; talk/speak; stand; and visual accommodation. OCCASIONAL: Lift and carry up to 30 pounds; rotate neck, static neck position; walk; hear within 5 feet and midrange vision.
