The Diesel Technician performs diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on customer and dealer-owned agricultural equipment. This role is critical to keeping our customers up and running during the moments that matter most.

What You’ll Do
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain agricultural equipment and precision ag technology systems
- Perform inspections and identify additional service opportunities
- Participate in John Deere Service EDUCATE training programs
- Stay current on John Deere and competitive equipment technology
- Complete work orders, documentation, and time tracking accurately
- Work efficiently to meet productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction expectations
- Account for all time, parts, and materials used in assigned work
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, safe work environment
- Follow all safety policies, procedures and OSHA regulations
- Support customer clinics and training as needed
- Perform field service work when required
- Take directions from the Location Service Manager to prioritize work, assignments, and customer needs
What We’re Looking For
- 1–2 years of experience in diesel or heavy equipment repair
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills
- Ability to perform repairs using specialized tools, technical manuals, and diagnostic software
- Experience with diagnostic software (John Deere Service Advisor preferred)
- Ability to operate equipment for testing and diagnostics
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently and on a team
- Positive attitude and strong customer service mindset
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; technical degree preferred
- Valid driver’s license required
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform physical work
Work Schedule
- Off-season: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- In-season: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM & Rotational Saturdays: 7:30 AM – 12:00 PM
- Additional overtime and on-call hours during peak seasons
