Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Massage Therapist role based in San Rafael, CA at the Flyte Racquet Club. The Massage Therapist will provide therapeutic, deep tissue, sports-style massage, and myofascial-focused recovery sessions tailored to the needs of athletes, active individuals, and other clients. Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing client concerns and movement demands, developing personalized treatment plans, delivering hands-on bodywork and localized cryotherapy, and documenting sessions for continuity of care. The role also involves collaborating with trainers, physical therapists, and club staff, educating clients on recovery strategies, and helping support a professional, performance-centered environment. The Massage Therapist will contribute to building strong client relationships and supporting the studio’s mission of improving movement, reducing pain, and enhancing long-term performance.
Qualifications
- Licensed or certified Massage Therapist in California (CAMTC or equivalent), with completed training from an accredited massage program.
- Strong skills in therapeutic, deep tissue, and sports massage, including myofascial and recovery-focused bodywork techniques.
- Ability to perform thorough client intake, assess movement and tension patterns, and create personalized treatment plans.
- Knowledge of sports recovery principles, basic anatomy and physiology, and injury-prevention best practices.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build trust, explain treatment plans, and educate clients on self-care.
- Commitment to professional ethics, maintaining client confidentiality, and adhering to all health, safety, and sanitation standards.
- Comfort working in a high-traffic athletic environment and collaborating with trainers, physical therapists, and other wellness professionals.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, perform physically demanding bodywork safely, and manage a consistent full-time client schedule.
