Currently, we are seeking an Operations Manager to join our team at the Voodoo Bayou in Orlando.
The Operations Manager is responsible for assisting in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the restaurant while leading and developing our Team. The Operations Manager will ensure the highest level of quality food and service by implementing policies and procedures set forth by the company, while maintaining a positive attitude and promoting a fun work environment. Coaching and Mentoring will be an important part of the Operations Manager's role, and he or she will work closely with the General Manager to ensure this function.
The Operations Manager will directly oversee the Service Support/Host Team and will be responsible for AORs in that department. The Operations Manager will be responsible for sales forecasting, scheduling, and staffing for that department. The Operations Manager will assist in ensuring that all budgeted goals are being met or exceeded, and all safety and sanitation regulations are being adhered to.
The Operations Manager will work directly with the Culinary Department to ensure proper communication from the Culinary Team to the Service and Bar Team during service. The Operations Manager will work closely with the General Manager to ensure all facets of the restaurant are functioning properly and efficiently while maintaining the integrity of the Team.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Operations
· Manage daily restaurant operations including scheduling, planning, and forecasting while upholding service standards, product quality, and cleanliness
· Perform opening and closing duties as assigned ensuing the restaurant is opened and closed properly
· Perform pre-shift meetings that are informative and inspiring with a focus on on-going training to maintain consistency in product and service standards
· Resolve issues quickly and efficiently with the best interest of the Company and our Team Members in mind
· Communicate regularly with Team Members about goals and expectations
· Lead by example and be transparent at all times
· Identify leaders and develop them; utilize your leaders to help uphold standards and set examples
· Set clear goals, providing constant feedback with effective counseling and coaching
· Communicate and administer all Company policies and procedures
· Maintain adequate staffing levels for the Events Department and any other department you are overseeing
· Onboard new Team Members and ensure that documents are recorded properly
· Develop relationships with vendors and ensure best pricing
· Deliver event in a timely fashion to management and culinary team for proper planning and scheduling
· Become familiar with event software and utilize it for all events
· Ensure that every possible lead for an event is entered into event software correctly and can be tracked
· Think outside the box; be creative and innovative when tackling challenges
· Share ideas for improvement
· Work with the other Managers to identify solutions quickly
· Always be looking for ways to improve overall performance and efficiency
Service
· Interact with Guests and maintain a presence on the floor
· Promote hospitality and exceed service standards, ensure every Guest leaves happy
· Solicit Guest feedback and report it back to the team
· Ensure guest satisfaction and resolve problems with the Guest’s best interest in mind
· Ensure the culture of the restaurant by leading with the companies guiding principles – quality service, quality products, quality atmosphere!
· Adhere to Federal, State, and local laws in addition to company policies, and hold Team Members accountable
· Ensure proper cash handling and payment processing procedures
· Comply with OSHA, local health, and safety codes as well as company safety and security policies
· Emphasize safety, sanitation and security awareness, and ensure that Team Members are properly trained to uphold these standards
· Assist Team Members on the floor at all times during service ensuring that they are supported throughout the shift
· Ensure that Team Members are maintaining side work and that the restaurant is “tour ready” at all times from front to back
· Coach, encourage and mentor Team Members daily to be the best they can be
· Promote a positive work environment that is respectful and inviting
