Duties

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using manual handling techniques like Hoyer lifts when necessary
• Monitor residents’ health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes to healthcare professionals
• Support medication administration following HIPAA guidelines to ensure privacy and safety
• Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning while maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen area
• Implement and follow individualized care plans tailored to each resident’s needs, including dementia care, Alzheimer's care, autism support, and neurodevelopmental disorders
• Maintain a safe environment by performing cleaning duties, ensuring proper hygiene standards are met in living spaces and common areas
• Document observations accurately in care records and participate in team meetings to update on resident progress or concerns

Skills

• Proven experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in senior care settings such as nursing homes or assisted living facilities
• Strong patient observation skills to identify changes in behavior or health status promptly
• Knowledge of patient monitoring techniques including vital signs measurement and dementia or memory care practices
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as heavy lifting, assisting with transfers using Hoyer lifts, and manual handling safely and effectively
• Familiarity with medication administration procedures and adherence to HIPAA regulations for confidentiality
• Excellent caregiving skills combined with compassion, patience, and active listening abilities
• Basic first aid and CPR certification to respond confidently during emergencies
• Experience supporting individuals with autism or neurodevelopmental disorders is highly valued
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team in home health or community care environments

Pay: $16.00 - $17.50 per hour
