Are you a sharp-eyed editor with a storyteller’s soul? Do you believe in the power of true crime journalism to illuminate injustice and give voice to the voiceless? True Crime Story911 Media Group is seeking a Volunteer Editor–Contributing Writer to join our team this fall.
This is a remote, volunteer-only position—perfect for someone looking to break into the field, build their portfolio, and have their name, photo, and byline featured on our website.

True Crime Story911 Media Group is a mission-driven media organization dedicated to ethical and impactful storytelling. We spotlight the stories of crime victims, the missing, and the murdered—raising awareness and advocating for justice through podcasts, digital content, our blog, and our upcoming magazine.
✍️ What You’ll Do
- Edit and refine compelling true crime stories for clarity, tone, and emotional impact
- Contribute original writing for podcasts, blog posts, and social media features
- Collaborate with producers and researchers to ensure factual accuracy and ethical storytelling
- Uphold editorial standards across all platforms
- Support the launch of The Original Sin Podcast, helping shape its voice and editorial identity
🎯 What We’re Looking For
- Strong writing and editing skills with a keen eye for detail
- Passion for true crime, justice, and advocacy-driven storytelling
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines remotely
- Familiarity with AP style and digital publishing tools is a plus
- Journalism, communications, or English majors welcome—but talent and drive matter most
