Contract Video Editor (Short-Form Captions Client Testimonials)
True Cornerstone Consulting is hiring a contract video editor to help turn long-form recordings into short-form clips that perform on LinkedIn and other social platforms. You will also edit client testimonial videos into polished, professional final cuts.
This is a contract role with consistent work for the right person.
What you’ll do (Responsibilities)
- Repurpose long-form video content (podcasts, interviews, training videos, webinars, Zoom recordings) into short-form clips optimized for LinkedIn and other platforms
- Find standout moments, pull key soundbites, and create scroll-stopping hooks in the first 1–2 seconds
- Edit short-form clips with clean pacing: tighten pauses, remove filler words where appropriate, and add on-screen text or b-roll as needed
- Add accurate, readable captions (burned-in) with consistent styling and strong line breaks for mobile viewing
- Add background music when requested, balancing audio so the voice stays clear
- Create simple motion graphics as needed (titles, lower thirds, callouts, quote highlights)
- Edit client testimonial videos:
Shape raw footage into a clear narrative while preserving the client’s authentic voice
Clean up audio, basic color correction, and tighten pacing
Add branded intro/outro and lower thirds (name, title, company) when appropriate
Deliver multiple versions (full testimonial short highlights)
- Export in the correct formats and dimensions (9:16 vertical, 1:1 square, 16:9 landscape) based on the platform
- Manage files cleanly with organized folders, naming conventions, and consistent delivery
- Collaborate asynchronously: accept feedback, implement revisions quickly, and communicate status clearly
What we’re looking for (Qualifications)
- Proven experience creating short-form social clips from long-form footage (portfolio required)
- Strong captioning skills: accuracy, timing, readability, clean formatting
- Strong sense of pacing and storytelling, especially for business content on LinkedIn
- Experience editing testimonials or interview-style videos (portfolio examples preferred)
- Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut, or Descript
- Solid audio mixing skills (voice leveling, noise reduction, clarity)
- Comfortable sourcing and using licensed, platform-safe music when requested
- Reliable turnaround, strong attention to detail, and clear communication
- Excellent English communication and writing skills.
- Ability to explain technical and creative editing concepts clearly and concisely.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms and their content requirements (especially LinkedIn, Youtube)
- Excellent video editing skills with a portfolio or reel demonstrating previous work
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Fast, reliable internet connection suitable for remote editing workflows
- Creative mindset with an eye for detail and trends
