We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Assistant at our urgent care center, you will be responsible for assisting healthcare providers in the delivery of exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Assist healthcare providers with patient care, including preparing patients for exams, taking vital signs, and documenting patient medical histories
- Perform various clinical tasks such as drawing blood, administering injections, and performing EKGs
- Prepare and maintain exam rooms and equipment, ensuring they are clean and properly stocked
- Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare providers, providing clear and concise instructions and explanations
- Process lab specimens and perform basic lab tests
- Assist with administrative tasks such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and verifying insurance information
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a medical assistant program from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a medical assistant, preferably in an urgent care or primary care setting
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information
