Role Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will assist physical therapists in implementing treatment plans for patients recovering from injuries, surgeries, or chronic conditions. This role requires a strong understanding of anatomy and patient care, as well as the ability to work in various settings including outpatient clinics, inpatient facilities, and home health environments.
Duties include:
- Assist physical therapists in executing individualized care plans for patients.
- Conduct therapeutic exercises and modalities under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist.
- Monitor patient progress and report any changes or concerns to the supervising therapist.
- Educate patients and their families on exercises and techniques to facilitate recovery.
- Participate in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care post-treatment.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient treatments and progress notes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Support pediatric patients with tailored therapy approaches as needed.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology
- Certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant from an accredited program
- Experience in outpatient, acute care, inpatient, or home health settings preferred
- Familiarity with developing and implementing care plans for diverse patient populations
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
- Ability to demonstrate patience and empathy while working with patients of all ages, including pediatrics
- Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant
