Join our dynamic construction team as a Horizontal Directional Laborer and be a vital part of underground utility installation projects! In this energetic role, you will assist with the precise and efficient installation of underground pipelines and cables using horizontal directional drilling (HDD) techniques. Responsibilities
- Assist with the setup and operation of heavy equipment such as mini - excavators, mixers, hydrovac machinery to support horizontal directional drilling activities
- Support the installation of underground utilities by preparing work sites, handling materials, and maintaining equipment readiness
- Operate or assist in operating specialized HDD equipment for precise directional drilling beneath obstacles like roads
- Conduct routine inspections of tools and machinery to ensure optimal functioning and safety compliance
- Follow safety protocols diligently during all phases of construction, including site preparation, equipment operation, and material handling
- Collaborate with team members to execute project plans efficiently while maintaining high safety standards
- Assist with site cleanup, material transport, and other general construction duties as needed to keep projects on schedule
Qualifications
- Experience working on construction sites with an understanding of safety procedures and protocols
- Valid driver’s license requirement, CDL preferred for operating or assisting with truck movements (Experience preferred however willing to train the right the person).
- Hands-on experience with horizontal directional drilling (HDD) or related underground utility installation is a plus
- Strong teamwork skills with excellent communication abilities
- Physical stamina to perform manual tasks in various weather conditions
