What are the responsibilities and job description for the Insurance Producer position at Trucker Path Insurance?
What's the Job?
Trucker Path Insurance (TPI) is a fast-growing, specialized insurance agency serving one of the most in-demand and underserved markets in the country — America's truckers, owner-operators, and fleet trucking companies.
We're building a national sales team of talented insurance and sales professionals who want to grow their career, develop deep expertise in a high-value niche, and earn well doing it. The right person for this job will be ready to understand the client’s risk exposure and deliver tailored commercial insurance solutions.
If you have a background in commercial insurance and B2B sales, then you're looking for a role where your income genuinely reflects your effort — this is worth a serious look.
Reporting to the Vice President of Sales, the Commercial Insurance Producer will be instrumental in driving revenue growth and building TPI’s reputation as a trusted partner for truck drivers across the country.
What You'll Do
You'll manage a healthy mix of inbound leads and targeted outbound outreach, build lasting client relationships, and grow a personal book of business over time. Work directly with truckers, owner-operators, and small fleet managers to understand their business and match them with the right commercial insurance coverage.
Day-to-day this looks like:
- Consulting with prospects to identify coverage needs and gaps
- Quoting and presenting solutions across commercial auto, cargo, occupational accident, and trucking liability
- Managing your pipeline with focus and follow-through
- Partnering with Sales Leadership to sharpen your approach and hit your goals
- Staying current on market conditions, coverage changes, and industry requirements — with full support from our training team
What’s the work location?
You’ll be based out of our Phoenix, AZ office in the Warehouse District of Downtown Phoenix—a 17,000-square-foot space designed for collaboration, creativity, and connection. You’ll work in-office five days a week ensuring you have ongoing access to real-time collaboration and coaching as you continue to grow and deliver great work.
What's the Earning Potential?
We built our compensation to reward performance early and consistently — not just at year-end, but every month.
- Base Salary: $48,000 (with an active P&C license)
- Monthly Commission: Uncapped — paid on every dollar starting at Day 1
- First-Year OTE potential: $70,000 – $130,000 for strong performers
- No ceiling. Ever. Your income grows as your book grows.
Nesting Period & Growth Ramp
We invest in your success from day one. All new producers begin with a structured onboarding and training program — designed to give you a thorough grounding in our products, systems, and the trucking industry while you're working your pipeline. You won't be thrown in cold. You'll be ready.
For candidates coming from outside trucking insurance specifically, this onboarding is where you build the industry knowledge that turns your existing sales and insurance skills into results. Our training is hands-on, practical, and built around real scenarios you'll encounter in the field — so by the time you hit your stride, you're selling with confidence and authority. Many of our strongest producers made exactly that transition.

You don't need a trucking industry background to be successful in this role. What matters most is that you:

- Bring a consultative approach — you listen, ask good questions, and match solutions to needs
- Are organized, pipeline-focused, and follow through consistently
- Are coachable and motivated by continuous improvement
- Prior tech experience (i.e. laptop, headphones, multiple monitors, etc.)
- Have used CRM tools simultaneously with multiple software systems and quoting portals
- Hold an active P&C license or are on track to obtain one before your start date
Familiarity with commercial trucking, FMCSA requirements, or DOT filings is a plus — but not a requirement.
