Responsibilities
- Operate tow trucks, flatbeds, and other recovery equipment to safely recover, load, and transport vehicles of various sizes and types.
- Perform automotive diagnostics to assess vehicle condition and determine appropriate recovery or repair procedures.
- Secure cargo following strict cargo securement protocols to prevent damage during transit.
- Load and unload vehicles efficiently while adhering to safety standards.
- Conduct routine inspections of recovery equipment, including flatbeds, forklifts, and vehicle mechanics tools, ensuring optimal functionality.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients, dispatchers, and team members during recovery operations.
- Follow all safety guidelines, traffic laws, and company policies during driving and recovery tasks.
- Maintain accurate logs of all recoveries, repairs, and vehicle movements for record-keeping purposes.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in automotive repair and diagnostics.
- Proficiency in operating tow trucks, flatbeds, forklifts, and other heavy-duty equipment.
- Skilled in manual transmission operation and commercial driving with a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to troubleshoot vehicle mechanics issues specific to truck drivers’ needs.
- Knowledge of cargo securement protocols to ensure safe transportation of vehicles or goods.
- Excellent conflict management skills to handle challenging situations professionally.
- Experience in load & unload procedures for various types of cargo or vehicles.
- Customer service orientation with clear communication skills to assist clients effectively.
