Information Systems Assistant plays a vital support role in managing the Oracle-based ERP and application environment for the Eaton family of companies. Working closely with the Director of Information Systems, this position offers hands-on learning opportunities and is designed to grow into a key technical role. It begins with foundational tasks in database management and development, gradually building expertise in Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle APEX, and related systems to ensure long-term system support and continuity.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Assist with basic database tasks, including writing and tuning SQL and PL/SQL scripts.
· Support the maintenance and operation of Oracle E-Business Suite, APEX applications, and SOA components for EDI and workflow automation.
· Contribute to the development and updates of dashboards and analytics tools under the guidance of the Director.
· Learn to translate business needs into ERP and custom application solutions.
· Help document system configurations, processes, and application workflows (e.g., flowcharts, technical guides).
· Shadow the Director of Information Systems in troubleshooting, development, and daily operations.
· Build familiarity with non-Oracle ERP and software systems to support additional departments and business entities.
· Take on small assignments—such as coding, testing, or technical support—to strengthen technical skills.
· Expand knowledge of system integrations, ERP modules, and custom applications over time.
· Stay informed on evolving technologies and best practices; work toward relevant certifications as appropriate.
· Perform additional tasks as assigned, contributing flexibly based on skills and team needs.
Preferred Education
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

- Some experience or familiarity with: Oracle ERP (E-Business Suite) Oracle Workflow, Oracle, APEX, JAVA
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
