Job Summary
TruCare Provider Services is seeking a highly skilled Direct Support Professional (DSP) with strong American Sign Language (ASL) proficiency and the ability (or willingness) to learn tactile sign to support a DeafBlind individual in our residential program in the Cheviot area, part-time. This is a specialized position focused on communication access, daily living support, and creating a safe, empowering home environment.

Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care to an individual who is DeafBlind in a residential setting
- Communicate using ASL, tactile sign, and other adaptive communication
- Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household routines
- Support community participation, outings, appointments, and social engagement
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow individualized support plan
- Collaborate with team care to ensure consistent communication strategies
- Promote independence, dignity, and safety at all times
- Participate in ongoing training as needed related to DeafBlind communication and support needs
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Level 4 proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Able or willing to learn tactile sign
- Experience supporting Deaf, DeafBlind, or Blind individuals, preferred
- Ability to assist with personal care and household tasks
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle with auto insurance to safely transport the individual
- Ability to work scheduled shifts reliably, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday from 9am - 1pm
- Compassion, Patience, and strong Communication skills
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Must be 18 years of age
- Successful clearance of local and/or state background checks
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 12.0 per week
