Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Yard Worker to join our team. This role involves supporting warehouse operations, handling materials, and operating heavy equipment to ensure efficient shipping, receiving, and inventory management. The ideal candidate will have Class D license, Health Card, clean driving record, Class A license not required but preferred, experience loading trucks, experience with steel fabrication preferred.
Duties
- Load and unload materials using forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment
- Operate cranes and other heavy machinery following OSHA safety standards
- Support shipping and receiving processes by organizing and managing inventory movements
- Perform materials handling tasks including heavy lifting and proper stacking of goods
- Maintain a clean and organized yard area, adhering to safety protocols
- Support warehouse supervision in daily operations and ensure compliance with safety regulations
- Assist with construction or maintenance tasks as needed within the yard or warehouse environment
Qualifications
- Previous experience in warehouse distribution, shipping & receiving, or construction is preferred
- Experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, cranes, clamp trucks, or order pickers is highly desirable
- Mechanical knowledge and familiarity with warehouse management systems are a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to warehouse operations
- Experience with pallet jacks, and other warehouse tools is advantageous
- Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Prior warehouse supervisor experience is beneficial but not required
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor in various weather conditions

Our yard guy duties entail:
Tracks shipped loads
Tracks parts sent out to processing (sand blasting or galvanizing mainly)
Gathers parts to load onto trailer and load them
Lists parts that have been loaded to generate shipping ticket (Bill of Lading)
Organize steel in yard.
Paint steel parts with primer
Some maintenance of yard equipment
Call in repairs for yard equipment and trucks or report needed repairs to office.
Ensure parts are leaving the yard in correct order.
Assist other sections of shop when needed
Transport parts to send to processing using flatbed truck (Class D works) with air brakes
or semi (if they have class A CDL)
Transport completed parts to job site on flatbed or semi (of class A) if needed.
Pay: From $30.00 per hour
