What are the responsibilities and job description for the Residential Plumbing Service Technician position at Tru North Heating and Air, Inc?
Overview
Tru North is diversifying into Plumbing! We started with HVAC and grew the business 1500%. We added plumbing a year ago and now we are growing the plumbing division to need a second Plumber. What we are looking for is someone eager to learn and grow with our company as well as get to work in the field. Do you want to be a part of our Family Owned company??
Duties
- Perform comprehensive plumbing repairs and installations in residential settings, including water supply lines, drain systems, fixtures, and appliances.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to accurately execute projects.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, pipe threading equipment, and welding techniques to complete tasks efficiently and safely.
- Conduct remodeling work that involves plumbing system upgrades or replacements, ensuring seamless integration with existing structures.
- Apply mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot complex plumbing issues and develop effective solutions on-site.
- Operate heavy lifting equipment and perform physical tasks such as lifting pipes, fixtures, and materials safely.
- Follow schematics and technical diagrams to install or repair plumbing systems according to specifications.
- Collaborate with construction teams on-site to coordinate work schedules and ensure project timelines are met.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, parts used, and project progress for quality assurance.
- Adhere to safety protocols at all times, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of tools and materials.
- Support other trades such as HVAC or carpentry when needed to complete comprehensive remodeling projects.
- Drive company vehicles responsibly for material transport or site visits as required by commercial driving certifications.
Experience
We are seeking someone with at least 2 years experience in the plumbing field. We are NOT taking on Apprentices right now- so if you do not have 2 years, please stop applying.
We need someone who has a decent set of their own hand tools as well. We can provide pro press and large expensive tools for you to use, but people applying with almost no hand tools will not get the job.
What would be amazing, is someone who has some HVAC experience too! As we are still growing on that side, someone who can learn and grow with us in hvac help would be a blessing - as our current Plumber can do both.
Hope you like what you read so far and are interested in Tru North!
Many Thanks,
Ray Stubbs
