Groundskeeper/Houseman

Position Summary

The Groundskeeper/Houseman is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and overall condition of the hotel's exterior and public areas. This position plays a key role in ensuring guests experience a clean, safe, and welcoming environment both inside and outside the property.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesExterior Property Maintenance

• Pressure wash sidewalks, entryways, curbs, dumpster areas, and other exterior surfaces as needed.
• Sweep and remove litter from parking lots, sidewalks, entrances, and landscaped areas.
• Empty exterior trash receptacles and replace liners.
• Remove debris, leaves, and other items from walkways and common areas.
• Keep hotel entrances clean, presentable, and free of hazards.
• Monitor property for safety concerns and report maintenance issues promptly.

Interior Houseman Duties

• Assist housekeeping staff with linen distribution and collection.
• Deliver supplies, amenities, cribs, and guest requests to rooms.
• Maintain cleanliness of public areas including lobby, hallways, fitness center, breakfast area, and public restrooms.
• Remove trash from public areas and employee workspaces.
• Assist with meeting room setup and breakdown when applicable.
• Help transport laundry, supplies, and equipment throughout the property.
• Clean glass doors, windows, elevators, and other high-touch public surfaces.

General Responsibilities

• Provide friendly and professional guest service at all times.
• Follow all hotel safety and security procedures.
• Report maintenance concerns, damage, or safety hazards immediately.
• Assist other departments as needed to ensure smooth hotel operations.
• Perform additional duties assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, push, pull, and work both indoors and outdoors for extended periods.
• Previous hotel, custodial, maintenance, or janitorial experience preferred but not required.
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic required.

Schedule

• Full-Time or Part-Time
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays as needed.

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
