Maintenance/Houseman

A Maintenance Assistant/Houseman is responsible for assisting the Chief Maintenance Engineer in the overall maintenance of the hotel’s building and grounds and the operation of its equipment and mechanical/electrical systems. Additionally, this position is responsible for the overall safety and security of the hotel and its associates.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry work.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment, fixtures, and systems as needed.
• Conduct preventive maintenance inspections to identify and address potential issues before they become problems.
• Maintain the safety and security of the hotel by ensuring compliance with fire, health, and safety regulations.
• Respond promptly to guest and staff maintenance requests.
• Maintain a clean and organized maintenance shop and work areas.
• Assist with seasonal tasks such as snow removal, landscaping.
• Work collaboratively with hotel management and staff to address maintenance needs.
• Keep records of all maintenance activities and repairs performed.
• Weekend housemen duties

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in hotel or building maintenance preferred.
• Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry repairs.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks as required.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.

Schedule:

• 3 Days (Flexible scheduling)
• 2 Nights - Friday & Saturday

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
