Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Yard Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for various tasks related to warehouse operations, including materials handling, shipping and receiving, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. This role requires physical stamina and the ability to operate heavy equipment safely.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers using forklifts.
- Perform order picking tasks accurately while adhering to safety protocols.
- Assist in shipping and receiving operations, ensuring all materials are accounted for and properly documented.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with OSHA standards.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any mechanical issues.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow and improve operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Previous warehouse experience is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation, including forklifts preferred.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) as required by the job.
- Experience with materials handling techniques and safety practices.
- Knowledge of shipping & receiving processes is essential.
- Proficiency in using warehouse management systems for tracking inventory is desirable.
