We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Welder/Fabricator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. Responsibilities
- Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately fabricate metal components.
- Perform various welding processes including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards.
- Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and shop math skills to ensure precise dimensions during fabrication.
- Operate power tools, hand tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment safely and efficiently.
- Cut, shape, assemble, and weld sheet metal, ductwork, piping, and structural components following strict safety protocols.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) codes & standards for accurate assembly and fabrication.
- Utilize rigging techniques for lifting and positioning heavy materials or assemblies on construction sites or within the shop environment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to all safety regulations related to construction site experience and manufacturing environments.
Skills
- Proven experience in construction site environments with knowledge of rigging, pipe threading, and ductwork installation.
- Proficiency with welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, gas metal arc welding (GMAW), and plasma cutting.
- Strong ability to interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
- Familiarity with measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, schematics, shop math, and basic math skills for precise fabrication work.
- Mechanical knowledge of metal materials including sheet metal fabrication and mechanical blueprint interpretation.
- Experience operating fabrication shop equipment such as press brakes, power tools, machining tools, forklifts, and soldering tools.
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to welding operations, construction environments, and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced setting while maintaining quality standards.
- Strong understanding of ASME codes & standards for pressure vessels or piping systems when applicable.
