Troy University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position hosted in the College of Science and Engineering. We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled researcher with a strong background in semiconductor plasmonics, energy harvesting devices, photonics and computational electromagnetics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct independent and collaborative research in Photonics, semiconductor plasmonics and energy harvesting technologies.
- Establish and manage a new optoelectronics laboratory, including equipment setup and operations.
- Contribute to and support grant writing efforts, including preparation of proposals and reports.
- Supervise and mentor undergraduate and graduate student researchers in relevant projects.
- Teach one introductory course in Electrical and Electronic Engineering per semester.
- Ph.D. in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated expertise in plasmonics, semiconductor science, energy harvesting, and computational electromagnetics (e.g., FDTD, COMSOL).
- Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques and optical characterization methods; experience with laboratory setup and instrumentation is highly desirable.
- Strong publication record in Optics, Optoelectronics, plasmonics, nanophotonics, or semiconductor devices
- Experience in grant writing and research proposal development, with a strong track record or demonstrated interest in academic publishing and securing external funding.
- Teaching experience or strong interest in undergraduate education.
