Position: Workforce Development Specialist – Michigan Works
Location: Oakland County Michigan Works! Troy
Reports to: Program Coordinator
Salary Range: $41,612 – $54,294

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required with a major in human services, counseling, social work, psychology, human resources or
- Knowledge of applicable federal and state regulations with respect to employment and training programs and/or career
- Knowledge of Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), Trade (TAA) and/or PATH (Partnership. Accountability.
- Working knowledge of the One-Stop Management Information System (OSMIS) preferred
- Demonstrated skills in oral and written communication along with strong organizational skills
- Proven ability to establish good rapport with adults
- Experience working with education, community, public and non-profit organizations
- Demonstrated skill in use of Microsoft products (Excel, Word)
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent and his/her designee may find appropriate
Job Duties:
- Provide excellent customer service to clients and partners
- Provide career planning and case management services to clients participating in workforce activities
- Schedule and facilitate program orientations and intakes, and accurately collect all program required documentation
- Assess client skills utilizing required basic skill assessments and compatibility tests
- Process all program required documentation and maintain accurate and complete case notes as required by state and
- Prepare clients for job readiness through career planning, job search assistance, resume writing, mock interviews and soft
- Supervise job search and provision of training
- Achieve all performance standards, requirements and measures
- Attend all required meetings with partners and Oakland County Michigan Works! staff
- Understanding and awareness of community partners and resources for necessary referrals
- Other duties as assigned
