What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Supervisor position at TROY Group, Inc.?
Objective of the Position:
Responsible for supervising production employees in the daily operations to ensure safety, quality, and productivity under the guidelines set up by company standards and policies.
Job Summary:
- Management of production staff to complete work orders by original due dates. Proactively report all instances when due dates cannot be met. Determine the need for overtime, temporary help, and/or shift changes to complete workload on schedule.
- Scheduling, training and mentoring of production team.
- Maintain labor efficiency at 100% of standard (Actual Vs. Standard). When not achieved, determine reasons and implement corrective actions as appropriate.
- Order all necessary supplies for each department?s needs.
- All paperwork or ERP system needs to be complete and accurate, including work hours in pay checks software and work order reporting in ERP system. Review reports in a timely manner. Work with data entry to fix any discrepancies.
- Deal with associate situations in a professional manner. Follow company policy when needed for disciplinary actions.
- Write and deliver all associate reviews in a timely manner. Assure all documentation is signed with proper signatures.
- Report all associate injuries and make sure all necessary paperwork is completed in full.
- Review all ECO packets for operational acceptance before signing. Report any changes needed and complete all necessary tasks for the new products or revisions to flow through manufacturing processes without incidence. Report when bills of material are not accurate. Complete documentation to correct errors.
- Seek ways to improve efficiencies and cut costs of indirect materials. Make recommendations for improvements to the Director of Operations.
- Deliver high-quality products to our customers.
Competency & position requirements:
- Candidate must have experience and demonstrated competency in utilization of personal computers (Office products) and computerized ERP systems.
- Formal training in managing and leading a team of production staff.
- Hands on leadership is a must and able to lead by example.
- At minimum the candidate must have 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing plant.
