Job Type: Contingent/PRN
Pay: $15.00 per hour
Schedule: Varying Mon-Friday, no nights or weekends
Shift: General 8/hr shift with 6:00am start time. (Shift times will vary with facility schedule)

We are seeking Contingent Patient Care Assistants for our surgical centers located in the Troy and the Macomb, MI area. Staff may be assigned to either location depending on facility schedules. Some of your responsibilities in this role will be:
Pre-op:
- To escort patients to pre-op area
- Obtains vital signs and urine specimens
- Obtains initial information re: driver, NPO status and prep results
- Terminally cleans pre-op rooms at end of the day
- Restocks area as needed
In Recovery Room:
- Escorts patients to their vehicles after discharge from the center (ambulatory or via wheelchair)
- Cleans stretchers and patient recovery room slots
- Restocks patient nourishment refrigerator
- Communicates information between recovery and pre-op nurses, as needed
What are we looking for in a candidate?
- High School diploma or GED required
- Previous experience in the medical field is preferred
- Is always friendly and courteous with excellent communication skills
- Is an active listener who can respond to fellow employees/customers in a timely, competent manner
- Is able to distinguish emergency patient situations
- Presents a professional, caring image
- Is able to adapt and work independently and efficiently under pressure, with multiple interruptions and with a high degree of accuracy
- Exercises discretion and integrity in dealing with confidential information ( complies with HIPAA privacy rules)
