TEACHER ASSISTANT

The part time art assist focuses on guiding students in artistic expression through hands-on activities like drawing, painting, and sculpting, while managing classroom supplies and fostering a supportive learning environment. Key duties include developing and delivering lesson plans, demonstrating techniques, evaluating student progress, and organizing art projects and exhibitions. The role may also involve collaboration with other teachers, adapting to different learning needs, and managing classroom logistics, sometimes with support from certified staff. 

• Lesson planning and delivery: Develop and implement lesson plans that teach fundamental art concepts, techniques, and art history.
• Instruction and demonstration: Provide individual and group instruction, demonstrate techniques such as drawing, painting, and sculpting, and guide students through creative projects.
• Student assessment and feedback: Evaluate student performance and growth, provide constructive feedback on their work, and prepare progress reports.
• Classroom management: Organize and maintain classroom materials, tools, and equipment to ensure proper use and prevent loss or abuse.

• Fostering creativity: Create a supportive and engaging environment that encourages students to express themselves artistically. 

• Inventory and supplies: Maintain an inventory of art supplies and manage purchasing within a budget.
• Exhibitions: Plan and organize student art shows to showcase their work.
• Collaboration: Work with other teachers to create integrated lesson plans and participate in school-wide events.
• Communication: Meet with students, parents, and other staff as needed to discuss student progress.

• Adaptability: Be prepared to adapt teaching to students with varying abilities and learning needs.
• Safety: Instruct students on the proper care and use of all tools and equipment.
• Support: Some roles may involve working under the guidance of a certified teacher who provides mentorship and support.
