A Project Designer has the responsibility of taking a project from start to finish. In our firm, we have different levels of project designers based on experience.
Job Description:
- Oversee project design from concept to completion.
- Responsible for material and design element selections to meet project vision and standards.
- Ensure design documentation is developed following the firm’s standards and approved design concept.
- Assist the design director in the development of the project’s design concept.
- Ensure design integrity, quality, and adherence to project specifications.
- Lead and mentor design team members.
- Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, construction teams, and support staff.
- Manage project budgets and timelines.
- Ensure all client’s presentations adhere to the firm's standards.
Tasks:
- Select materials, finishes, and design elements that align with the project's design concept.
- Review, redline if needed, and approve all design documentation, including all work from support staff (3D renderings, millwork specifications, drafting details, shop drawings) and vendors.
- Ensure the design is being executed as planned by visiting the project’s construction sites, responding to RFIs, meeting with the PM, etc. **Phases
- Conduct team meetings to discuss project progress and address any construction-related issues.
- Monitor project milestones and deadlines, ensuring all teams, including construction, are aligned.
- Ensuring cohesive collaboration between the design team and the construction department.
- Make sure presentations are ready for client’s presentations.
- Prepare and Manage COI’s
- Prepare and Manage Progress reports
- Client’s approvals
- FFE Procurement sign off
- Manage and participate in Installations
