Civil Project Manager / Estimator

What You’ll Do:
- Prepare precise cost estimates, quantity takeoffs, and competitive bids to secure new projects.
- Review plans, specifications, and contract documents to identify scope, risks, and opportunities.
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids to optimize project profitability.
- Develop comprehensive project budgets, schedules, and execution plans.
- Oversee projects from award through closeout, ensuring on-time delivery within budget.
- Monitor project costs, change orders, RFIs, and contract documentation.
- Coordinate efforts with field superintendents, subcontractors, engineers, and clients.
- Conduct project meetings and provide regular updates to leadership and stakeholders.
- Negotiate subcontractor agreements and purchase orders.
- Track project profitability and explore opportunities for process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality protocols, and company policies.
- Support business development by maintaining client relationships and identifying new project opportunities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred).
- 5 years of experience managing civil construction projects and preparing estimates.
- Strong knowledge of site development, earthwork, utilities, grading, paving, concrete, and municipal infrastructure.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership capabilities.
- Strong project scheduling and cost control skills.
- Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel locally as needed.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with heavy civil construction, underground utilities, roadway, and highway projects.
- Background in stormwater and sewer infrastructure, municipal, or public works projects.
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering.
- Over 5 years of relevant civil project management and estimating experience.
Additional Requirements:
- Willingness to travel to various project sites within the region.
- Commitment to maintaining the highest safety and quality standards.
