Manufacturing Cost Accounting Manager

Position: Manufacturing Cost Accounting Manager

Salary: $105,000 - $125,000

Employment Type: Direct Hire

Location: Pleasant Prairie, WI

We are seeking a Cost Accounting professional to take ownership of manufacturing cost accounting, inventory controls, and financial analysis.

What You'll Do

• Manage and maintain standard costs for materials, labor, and overhead across a large SKU portfolio.
• Perform weekly and monthly manufacturing variance analysis, including PPV, labor, overhead, yield, and production variances.
• Oversee inventory accounting, valuation, cycle counts, and inventory accuracy initiatives across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
• Analyze production efficiency, labor utilization, capacity, and manufacturing performance.
• Support and improve the company's ERP system, ensuring accurate costing, reporting, and financial data.
• Partner with Supply Chain on forecasting, MRP, and inventory planning.
• Support annual budgeting, including collaboration with department leaders on resource requirements.
• Evaluate CAPEX investments, including NPV and IRR analysis.
• Support general accounting activities and other financial initiatives as needed.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of standard costing, overhead allocation, variance analysis, and inventory valuation.
• Experience with overhead allocation using machine hours and/or labor hours; sub-assembly costing experience is a plus.
• Advanced Excel skills, including XLOOKUP, PivotTables, Tables, and array functions.
• Experience with a manufacturing-focused ERP system such as Deacom, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar.
• Experience with cycle count programs and inventory accuracy improvements.
• Knowledge of CAPEX analysis, NPV, and IRR.
• Familiarity with ASC 842 / finance lease accounting is a plus.
• CPG, cosmetics, or other high-SKU manufacturing experience is highly desirable.
• CPA or CMA certification and SQL/reporting experience are a plus.
