Trout Creative Thinking is an independent brand and creative agency, founded in Australia
more than 30 years ago. Today, we work across Australia and the United States, helping
organizations build distinctive brands and deliver marketing that drives real business growth.
In the U.S., we partner closely with the Reece Group – one of the world’s leading plumbing,
HVAC, and building products suppliers. While we collaborate deeply with their marketing
teams, we operate as an independent agency, bringing brand thinking, strategy, and creative
expertise.
Our Dallas office is the hub for Trout’s U.S. growth. As we expand, we’re looking for a Senior
Designer who brings craft, consistency and speed to the work.
This is a hands-on role. You’ll work closely with the Design Director to bring ideas to life and
keep work moving – fast, accurate, and consistent, with a strong understanding of brand
systems. It’s about execution, reliability, and making the team better through strong delivery.
What You’ll Do
Design & Execution (Core)
- Stimulates and promotes ideas while challenging the status quo
- Produce high-quality design across print and digital
- Apply and evolve brand systems across touchpoints, ensuring consistency and clarity
- Build polished, production-ready files (no hand-holding)
Pace & Delivery
- Manage multiple projects at once without dropping balls
- Prioritize and shift between projects as needs change
- Communicate status clearly and deliver on time, consistently
Systems & Consistency
- Maintain clean files, version control, and organization
- Ensure consistency across assets and channels
Team Collaboration
- Partner closely with the Design Director and broader team
- Take feedback well and apply it quickly
- Contribute to a smooth, efficient workflow across projects
Client & Presentation Support
- Participate in client meetings as needed
- Present work clearly and confidently in small group or client settings
- Contribute to presentations through strong visual storytelling
- Explain design decisions and creative rationale in a simple, direct way
What We’re Looking For
Experience
- 7-10 years in a design role (agency preferred)
- Strong portfolio showing both craft and real-world execution
Tools
- Build and work in Figma; comfortable with design systems and Adobe Creative Suite
Design Quality and Execution
- Excellent typography, layout, and visual judgment
- Detail-oriented – accuracy matters
- Knowledge of production management, specs, and quoting
Work Style
- Fast, organized, and reliable
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities
- Low ego, high accountability
- Responds quickly and follows through
Communication
- Understand brand strategy and apply it in design decisions
- Can lead briefing discussion/meetings, and brief co-creation
- Comfortable presenting in small group or client settings
- Can connect design decisions back to brief/objective
Additional Strengths
- Prepare and deliver final, production-ready artwork across print and digital
- Motion / basic animation skills
- Familiarity with AI tools for design/production
