Job Title:   Social Studies History Teacher/Assistant Boys Coach -Baseball

Dept/School:     Troup High School

Length of Work Year:    10 months

Position Summary:

Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth.  Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.  Effectively perform all duties and tasks as defined by the job description and as requested by the campus principal.

Position Requirements:

Education/Certification:

Bachelor’s degree from accredited university

Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned

Demonstrated competency in the academic subject area assigned     

Special Knowledge/Skills:

General knowledge of coaching techniques and procedures

Knowledge of UIL rules

Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Valid CDL license will be required

Experience:

Proven performance as a qualified teacher/coach preferred

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

• Highly effective leadership in promoting student achievement
• Ability to manage student behavior
• Strong knowledge of subject area
