About Trossen Robotics
Trossen Robotics builds professional-grade robotics platforms that help the world’s best teams develop physical AI. Our systems are used to train and evaluate robot learning workflows, capture real-world datasets, and prototype manipulation and automation faster than traditional robotics stacks allow.
We work with robotics labs, AI research groups, AI-first startups, and corporate R&D teams working on embodied intelligence. Our customers include Google, Meta, Stanford, and more than four hundred other leaders in physical AI. If you want to sell at the intersection of robotics, machine learning, and real-world deployment, this is a front-row seat.
The Role
We are hiring an Account Executive to own revenue and customer growth. This is a consultative, technical sales role for someone who can build trust with engineers, run clean deal processes, and drive complex opportunities to close.
You will sell into highly technical buyers who care about performance, integration, iteration speed, and how hardware choices affect data collection and model training. You will help customers move from interest to purchase with clarity on requirements, configuration, timeline, and scope.
This is not a high-volume or script-driven role. It is for someone who wants real ownership, high accountability, and the opportunity to help build the playbook.
What You Will Do
Own bookings and revenue
- Run opportunities from initial conversation through discovery, proposal, negotiation, and close.
- Maintain a healthy pipeline with clear next steps, timelines, and close plans.
- Lead strong discoveries with AI and robotics buyers!
Lead discovery calls with roboticists, ML engineers, researchers, founders, and R&D leaders.
- Understand customer use cases, constraints, and success criteria, including how the system will be used for data collection, teleoperation, evaluation, and iterative experimentation.
- Identify decision makers, procurement paths, timelines, and budget sources early.
Create clarity and confidence in the buying process!
- Translate customer requirements into clear proposals and quotes.
- Coordinate internally to confirm configurations, pricing, and lead times.
- Set and protect scope by clearly communicating what is standard, optional, or out of scope.
Build pipeline the right way!
- Work inbound leads quickly and thoughtfully, prioritizing high-intent opportunities.
- Execute targeted outbound outreach to relevant technical teams and accounts in physical AI, robotics, automation, and research.
- Represent Trossen at conferences, trade shows, and customer meetings where robotics and AI teams gather.
- Develop and refine basic sales assets such as call tracks, email templates, evaluation plans, and competitive positioning.
Build long-term accounts!
- Identify expansion opportunities including additional systems, accessories, multi-unit rollouts, and multi-team or multi-site deployments.
- Develop champions and map broader customer organizations over time.
- Secure references, repeat business, and long-term partnerships.
Operate with discipline and bring market signal back!
- Maintain strong CRM hygiene with accurate notes, next steps, and forecasts.
- Capture and share customer feedback on objections, competitors, pricing, and gaps that inform product and go-to-market strategy.
- Surface patterns in what AI teams need from robotics platforms, including integration friction, dataset workflow pain, and evaluation requirements.
What Success Looks Like
- Consistently meeting or exceeding bookings targets with reliable forecasting.
- A pipeline built on high-quality, well-qualified opportunities, not activity for activity’s sake.
- Strong win rates with technical buyers who evaluate deeply.
- Repeat purchases and account expansion as teams scale experiments into larger deployments.
- Clear expectations with minimal late-stage surprises on scope, configuration, and timeline.
What We Are Looking For
Required
- 3 or more years of B2B sales experience owning deals from discovery to closing.
- Experience selling complex or technical products to engineers or technical decision makers.
- Strong discovery, communication, and deal management skills.
- Comfort working in ambiguity and helping define process rather than waiting for it.
Strongly Preferred
- Experience selling robotics, automation, hardware systems, developer platforms, data tooling, or AI-adjacent technical products.
- Experience selling into research labs, universities, corporate R&D, AI startups, or industrial innovation teams.
- Conversational familiarity with topics like sensors, compute stacks, teleoperation, manipulation, and robot learning workflows.
- Experience navigating procurement and vendor onboarding.
- CRM experience with HubSpot, Salesforce, Nutshell, or similar tools.
Traits That Win at Trossen
- High integrity and a refusal to overpromise.
- Strong technical curiosity and fast learning ability.
