What are the responsibilities and job description for the Experienced Roll-off Driver position at Tropical Trash?
The Roll-Off Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a commercial vehicle to deliver, pick up, and transport large roll-off containers to and from customer locations, landfills, and transfer stations. The driver must ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company safety policies. The ideal candidate will be reliable, punctual, safety conscientious and efficient.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Operate roll-off trucks in a safe and professional manner on public roadways, customer properties, and job sites.
· Perform daily pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections in accordance with DOT regulations and company policies.
· Load, secure, transport, and dump roll-off containers of varying sizes (12-yard, 20-yard, 30-yard, 40-yard).
· Deliver and remove containers at residential, commercial, and industrial sites.
· Maintain accurate records including route sheets, delivery and pick-up confirmations, and vehicle maintenance logs.
· Interact with customers in a professional, courteous manner and provide quality customer service.
· Identify and report equipment malfunctions or unsafe conditions.
· Maintain cleanliness of assigned vehicle (interior and exterior).
· Comply with all company policies, safety guidelines, and DOT regulations.
· Drivers are required to use iPad for daily routes as well as inspection logs.
· Drivers must be able to get in and out of trucks several times a day and lift materials when needed.
· Exceptional customer service as well as communication between dispatch, client, shop and other employees is required.
· Driver will be based out of Ridgeland, and will cover Beaufort, Jasper, Hampton and Chatham Counties.
· Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· Valid Class A or B CDL with a clean driving record (10 Year MVR Required).
· 2 years of experience operating roll-off
· Must be at least 21 years of age.
· Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
· Strong knowledge of local streets and routes.
· Must pass a DOT drug screen.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
· Ability to sit, stand, drive, and walk for extended periods.
· Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
· Work in varying weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, and snow.
· Exposure to waste materials, odors, and loud noise levels.
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, with occasional weekends and overtime as needed. Start time each day is 5am.
