Fast growing Skincare and Beauty CMO is looking for a formulation Chemist, located in Tampa, FL.
OTC experience is a must.

We are looking for a qualified formulation chemist with experience creating beautiful formulations for skincare, personal care, pet care, household and OTC skincare.

We will attempt almost anything and our formulations and clients range from personal care/skin care to pet, industrial, household and others in-between.

The R&D Formulation Chemist is responsible for the development and successful launch of personal care and cosmetic products. As a contract manufacturer the work process occurs at a rapid pace, therefore the ideal candidate will be one who thrives on meeting quick turnaround times on samples, prototypes, and documentation.
Responsibilities:
- Review customer specifications and requirements.
- Develop new formulation and products.
- Help train and manage lab personnel when needed.
- Communicate effectively with clients, management and the production team throughout the process.
- Conduct wet chemical analyses (pH, viscosity, specific gravity, etc.) to determine the percentage of activity on various solutions and raw materials
- Routine lab maintenance and calibration of lab instruments
- Develop and deepen knowledge and expertise in formulation development in the consumer cleaning and personal care arenas
- Design and validate new test procedures and SOP’s
- Ensure compliance with current and future regulations
- Additional duties involve running routine in-laboratory tests and preparing samples for submission to external testing laboratories
What do you need to be considered for this position? Bachelor’s Degree in chemistry or similar with 5 years or more working in the skincare/personal care industry.
Possess a passion for the skincare/personal care industry with knowledge of brands and the latest innovation.
