Join Tropical Cheese Industries, a leader in the Hispanic food industry for over 40 years, as our next Warehouse and Logistics Manager.
Overview
The Warehouse and Logistics Manager oversees all day-to-day operations across warehousing, inventory, and outbound logistics. This role ensures accurate inventory control, reliable order fulfillment, operational efficiency, safety compliance, and strong coordination with drivers, vendors, and the main distribution center in Perth Amboy, New Jersey.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, put-away, picking, staging, and shipping.
- Manage all logistics activities, including fleet performance and driver scheduling.
- Track, maintain, and report key operational KPIs across warehouse and transportation.
- Ensure inventory accuracy through cycle counting, reconciliation, and variance analysis.
- Maintain proper warehouse capacity, organization, and product flow.
- Guarantee timely and complete fulfillment of all outbound orders.
- Lead, train, and support warehouse associates and drivers with a people-first approach.
- Coordinate inbound replenishment orders with the Perth Amboy, NJ distribution center.
- Oversee Samsara or similar fleet technology, including camera systems and telematics sensors.
- Serve as the primary point of coordination between truck vendors, mechanics, and the maintenance manager in Perth Amboy.
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and promote a strong safety-first culture.
- Foster a customer-first mindset focused on supporting internal partners, especially Sales.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, analysis).
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Experience working with an ERP platform.
- Strong understanding of KPIs and operational reporting.
- Experience with cycle counting and inventory control processes.
- Deep knowledge of warehouse workflows, material flow, and slotting.
- Working knowledge of routing, delivery operations, and logistics planning.
- Understanding of DOT regulations and safety compliance.
- Strong leadership skills with proven ability to coach and manage teams.
- Customer-first mindset with strong cross-functional communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required.
Education and/or Experience
- Experience will be considered in lieu of educational background — all candidates are welcome to apply regardless of formal education.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in warehouse and logistics management, preferably in the food or perishable goods industry.
Work Environment & Schedule
- This is a full-time, on-site position based in Miami, FL.
- Standard schedule is Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend availability required based on operational needs.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout an entire shift.
