Position Overview
The Sales Manager – Commercial & Business-Purpose Lending is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing, developing, and motivating a team of sales- loan originators while also maintaining an individual production pipeline.
This role is ideal for a proven originator who has successfully produced in private lending and is ready to lead from the front—coaching sales professionals, driving consistent production, and modeling best practices through their own deals.
The Sales Manager plays a critical role in scaling a relationship-driven, repeat-borrower sales organization, not a high-churn or call-center environment.

Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership & Team Management
  • Lead, coach, and support a team of Commercial & Business-Purpose Loan Originators
  • Set clear expectations around production, pipeline quality, responsiveness, and professionalism
  • Conduct regular 1:1s, pipeline reviews, and performance coaching
  • Train newer originators on deal structuring, borrower discovery, and relationship management
  • Reinforce a culture of accountability, collaboration, and consistency
Individual Loan Production
  • Source, structure, and close commercial and business-purpose real estate loans
  • Maintain a personal pipeline alongside managerial responsibilities
  • Serve as a role model for best-in-class borrower engagement and follow-through
  • Participate in complex or high-value deals as needed
Pipeline & Performance Management
  • Monitor team pipelines, deal flow, and conversion metrics
  • Ensure accurate and timely updates in company systems
  • Identify bottlenecks and partner with underwriting/ops to resolve issues
  • Support strategic growth of repeat borrower relationships
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner closely with underwriting, capital markets, and operations
  • Help resolve deal challenges collaboratively rather than defensively
  • Provide feedback to leadership on market trends, borrower needs, and product fit
Business Development & Representation
  • Attend approved industry events, networking groups, and conferences (stipend provided)
  • Represent the company professionally with borrowers and referral partners
  • Help elevate the company’s reputation through consistent service and execution
Qualifications
  • 5–10 years in private lending, hard money, or business-purpose real estate finance
  • Proven track record of originating and closing commercial or investor loans
  • Prior experience mentoring, training, or informally leading sales professionals preferred
  • Strong understanding of deal structuring and borrower qualification
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills
  • Comfortable balancing production and leadership responsibilities
  • Reputation for integrity, consistency, and accountability
  • Candidates located outside CA and FL preferred
Compensation & Support
  • Base Salary: Competitive, experience-dependent
